At the first EPC summit in the Czech Republic, the leaders committed to promoting and expanding UK-French civil nuclear cooperation. They also reaffirmed the full support of the UK and French governments for the construction of a new nuclear power station at Sizewell and expect the relevant authorities to finalize the agreements in the coming months. It is expected that the British and French state-owned energy groups EDF will each receive a 50% stake in the company developing the Sizewell C nuclear power station.
